A controversy has been around since few days, Yash Raj Films’ Amir Khan’s son Junaid Khan’s Maharaj, which is to stream on Netflix from 14th June, is in the eye of a controversy even before its release. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal have called for a boycott of the film on the ground that it portrays a Hindu religious leader incorrectly. The religious/political outfits fear that showing the religious leader in negative light may offend sentiments of the Hindus.
Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, makes his debut as an actor in this film which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra. Meanwhile, YRF is geared up to battle it out in the court if such a situation were to arise.
This kind of a controversy often goes in favour of the film, it seems Junaid Khan’s Maharaj would be benefited with all these buffs.
