Investigators exploring the deadly explosion near Red Fort have identified a critical foreign link: a handler codenamed “Ukasa”, reportedly based in Ankara, Turkey, was allegedly in direct digital communication with the main accused, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, and his associates.
According to police sources, Ukasa — derived from the Arabic word for “spider” — may only be a code-name concealing the handler’s true identity.
Investigators have traced his location to Ankara and believe he orchestrated the group’s finances, coordination, and radicalisation.
Travel and Radicalisation
Officials say that members of the module — linked to the Faridabad campus of Al‑Falah University — travelled from India to Turkey in March 2022, where they reportedly met the handler and were indoctrinated into the network.
Communication thereafter was carried out exclusively over the encrypted Session messaging app to avoid detection.
White-Collar Terror Network
What makes the case especially disturbing is the involvement of medical professionals in what has been described as a “white-collar” terror module.
Investigators say that Dr Nabi and associates were guided remotely by Ukasa, using sophisticated digital tools, an encrypted messaging app, and international coordination.
Next Stages of the Probe
Agencies are now meticulously analysing chat histories, mobile logs,g s and digital devices recovered from suspects to map the full extent of the overseas network and its connections to Pakistan-based terror organisations.
This breakthrough underscores how modern terror operations are increasingly globalised — with handlers in one country guiding operatives in another via encrypted networks, blending ideology, technology, and professional cover.
