Bahraich Idol immersion clash and murder: CO and two more cops suspended.

Taking a serious stand over the arson rioting and murder during Durga idol immersion day, the state government has suspended CO Mahsi Rupendra Gaur for his failure to ensure law and order. Two other cops were suspended in this case earlier. On the other hand, police while tightening their noose around the trouble makers arrested one more person identified as Danish in the murder of Ram Gopal.

It all started during the immersion procession of the idol of goddess Durga when trouble erupted and two groups came face to face with each other.
Meanwhile, shots were fired from a weapon that led to the death of one person.
Frayed tempers not ready to calm down created further trouble the next day after a group of angry men set fire to shops and other establishments including vehicles.
As a result, senior officers were flown from Lucknow to control the situation.

In another almost similar incident, SP Kaushambi suspended the Manjhanpur SHO and Nara police outpost in charge of their failure to control a mob that went berserk during the idol immersion and clashed.
