Bangladesh Chief Justice Forced To Resign by Protesting Students

The Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obaidul Hassan has agreed to step down following great pressure on him.

The situation erupted after student protesters surrounded the supreme court of this country and demanded immediate resignation of the Chief Justice along with several other Judges.
As this happened, security was stepped up at the Supreme Court but the protesting students refused to budge and their numbers kept increasing.
Soon they surrounded the supreme court in large numbers giving out clear signals that they meant business and theirs was not simply a protest.
The students have accused the Chief Justice of Bangladesh for not being fair. According to them the Judge favoured the ousted PM Sheikh Hasina and her party.
After succeeding in ousting the PM and bringing about a situation in which PM Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee the country the students directed their anger aginst the judiciary while targeting the Chief Justice whom they accused of being hand in glove with the country’s PM.
