In a gruesome incident, a young man was brutally murdered, his body stuffed into a sack and dumped in a canal.
The shocking crime is alleged to have been committed by his own brother-in-law, along with two associates.
Panic spread in the area on Sunday morning after the body was found lying in a dry canal in Mawai village.
Acting on the complaint filed by the deceased’s father, the police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the accused.
The deceased has been identified as Surendra (30), son of Dharmapal, a resident of Kakrahai hamlet of Kura Basuhar village under Sarai Akil police station limits.
Surendra worked as a welder in Saudi Arabia and returned home about three months ago.
According to his father, Surendra left home on Friday night on his motorcycle. When he did not return for a long time, the family began searching for him.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, his body was found packed in a sack in a dry canal in Mawai village.
Serious injury marks were found on Surendra’s head, indicating that he was killed by repeatedly striking his head with a heavy object.
His motorcycle was also found lying near the body.
After receiving information about the sensational incident, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar, Additional SP Rajesh Kumar Singh, and DSP Chail Abhishek Singh reached the spot along with the police force and a forensic team.
After inspecting the scene, the police sent the body for post-mortem examination.
The DSP said that based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s father, a murder case has been registered against Guddu, a resident of Madhi village under Kaushambi police station limits, who is Surendra’s brother-in-law, along with his two associates.
Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused.
The SP stated that the preliminary investigation clearly points to the involvement of the brother-in-law and his accomplices in the crime.
According to the SP, the murder was committed due to financial transactions and a family dispute. The body of the deceased was found in the dry canal of Mawai village under Sarai Akil.
