Prayagraj: A horrific crime shook the Kareily locality of Prayagraj when the brutally stabbed and bludgeoned body of a 52-year-old contractor, Salauddin, was discovered in an under-construction house on Friday morning. The gruesome murder has left the entire area in shock and distress.

Discovery of the Crime

The unsettling discovery was made in the early hours of Friday when police officers, conducting routine night patrolling, noticed a motorcycle parked outside an incomplete building in Ainuddinpur under Kareily police station. Their suspicion led them to enter the house, where they were met with a gruesome sight—Salauddin’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. The victim had suffered multiple stab wounds, and his head appeared to have been smashed with a heavy object, likely a hammer. A bloodstained hammer was also found at the crime scene, indicating the brutality of the attack.

Salauddin, a resident of Lakhanpur under the jurisdiction of the Airport police station, was a contractor involved in the construction of houses. On Thursday morning around 9 AM, he had left his home on his motorcycle after receiving a phone call. His family became worried when he did not return home that night. Their worst fears were realized the next morning when news of his murder spread through the neighborhood.

As soon as the news of Salauddin’s murder reached his family, they rushed to the crime scene in a state of deep shock and grief. The residents also gathered outside the under-construction house, expressing their horror and anger over the crime. Many of them had known the victim personally and were stunned by the sudden and violent nature of his death.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon discovering the body, the police promptly initiated an investigation. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against unidentified persons based on a complaint filed by the family. However, the family members expressed their inability to point fingers at any specific individual, claiming that they were unaware of any enmity or disputes that could have led to such a gruesome murder.

The police, under the leadership of Kareily police station in-charge Rajesh Maurya, have started probing the case from multiple angles. One of the primary focuses of the investigation is to trace the phone call that led Salauddin to leave his home that morning. Authorities are analyzing call records and tracking the caller’s identity, along with examining other calls received by the victim before his murder.

Postmortem and Funeral

A panel of two doctors conducted the postmortem under videographic documentation, ensuring that all findings were recorded for legal and investigative purposes. The procedure took considerable time, causing hundreds of anxious residents and neighbors to wait outside the mortuary for updates. Finally, late in the evening, the family was handed over Salauddin’s body.

As grief-stricken family members and well-wishers gathered, they proceeded with the funeral rites. The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow as the body was taken to the graveyard for burial, marking a painful farewell to a man whose life was cut short in such a brutal manner.

With the murder causing widespread fear and concern in the locality, the police have intensified their efforts to bring the culprits to justice. Forensic experts have examined the crime scene, and authorities are collecting evidence, including CCTV footage from nearby areas, to establish a clearer timeline of events leading up to the murder.

As the investigation continues, the police urge anyone with information to come forward to help solve the case. The residents of Kareily and Lakhanpur are also hoping for swift justice and are closely following the progress of the case.

This shocking crime has left many unanswered questions—who was the mysterious caller? What was the motive behind such a violent act? As authorities delve deeper into the case, they remain determined to uncover the truth and ensure that the perpetrators face the full extent of the law.
