CM Yogi Aditya Nath directs all road construction agencies and contractors that they have to make all roads in the state pit free and carry out repairs and maintenance where ever required before the start of festivals. They will have to bear the responsibility of maintaining the roads for the next five years

All roads in the state be made pit-free by October 10 and all contractors be issued instructions that they would be responsible for their maintenance and also would be answerable with full accountability. These instructions cover agencies instead of contractors as per the situation, said CM Yogi Aditya Nath.

At the moment nearly 44399 km long roads are full of pits and dangerous for commuters but their condition has to change before Navratra, Diwali, and Dussehra said the CM.

There was no dearth of funds related to road maintenance and repair as such ministers and officers have been directed to make visits and ensure that roads were fully repaired before the beginning of the festivals. Accountability of those showing slackness in work be fixed and weekly reports are required to be submitted.
