Death toll in Rajkot fire increases. FIR against six persons lodged. Gujrat High Court takes suo moto cognisance.

The death toll in the horrific fire tragedy at Rajkot in Gujrat has gone upto thirty five.

This includes nine children.

Most of the bodies could not be identified as they had been charred beyond recognition.

 

Electric welding work going on at this gaming zone reportedly caused this massive fire that spread wildly devouring so many lives.

 

The Rajkot police has lodged FIR against six persons two of the have been arrested.

Police was looking for the other four persons and hopes to arrest them soon.

 

As per reports, the game zone operators had been carrying out their activities and had not applied for fire licence.

 

On the other hand the Gujrat high court has taken suo moto cognisance if fire in Rajkot terming it as man made disaster.

 

The gaming zone is reported to have taken advantage of loopholes in general development control regulations and had been carrying out activities illegally.

 

Chief minister Bhupendra Patel visited the place and also went to the hospital where the injured were being treated.

 

Till now no body has been able to ascertain as to how many people were inside this park when the fire broke out.

 

Since vacation period is going on a large crowd including children had gathered inside.

 

PM Modi in his tweet says, “the fire tragedy in Rajkot has saddened us all. In my telephone conversation with him a short while ago, Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel Ji told me about the efforts underway to ensure all possible assistance is provided to those who have been affected,” reads the tweet.

Another PM Modi’s tweet reads, “Extremely distressed by the fire mishap in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected”.
