The fact that on a single day 21 cases of Dengu have come to light speaks about the seriousness of this mosquito bite disease that causes much harm to the patient.

The area in which Dengu is detected also become vulnerable to other residents as well.

The official Dengu cases have reached to 227 in this season. The unofficial figure is several times more as patients get themselves treated at private hospitals and other medical centres.

A lot many patients prefer to get treatment at home, say doctors.

According to district malaria officer Anand Singh, Dengu infection is at peak in the city of Prayagraj.

On its part, the department had been taking all steps to bring down the problem through spraying.

We ensure spraying around fifty houses at least after the reporting of a patient in that particular area.

Teams are also despatched for collection of larva for analysis.

However, we are trying to sensitise people to take steps against mosquito bite at their own level.

This situation is likely to continue till November 10 after this Dengu cases will register stee

p fall, he informed.
