Flats Built on Gangster Mukhtar Ansari’s Seized Land Handed Over to the Poor; CM Yogi Reiterates Warning to Mafia

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in Lucknow on Wednesday, distributed allotment letters to beneficiaries of newly constructed residential flats at Ekta Park in Dalibagh.

These 72 flats have been built on government land reclaimed after demolishing the illegally occupied bungalow of notorious gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari.

While speaking at the event, CM Adityanath once again issued a stern warning to criminal syndicates and land mafia, asserting that no one would be allowed to threaten or exploit public resources.

“Those who once nurtured the mafia while in power are now offering prayers at their graves after losing power,” he remarked, taking a clear swipe at previous governments.

He said that showing sympathy to the mafia was political self-destruction.

The Chief Minister personally handed over housing allotment certificates to ten beneficiaries. Several new homeowners became emotional upon receiving the keys to their long-awaited homes.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to housing for the underprivileged, CM Yogi stated that his government has provided 60 lakh homes to economically weaker families over the last eight and a half years, and that land previously seized by the mafia in several cities has been used to build homes for the poor.

Adityanath emphasized that anyone attempting to forcibly occupy land belonging to the poor or to the government would meet the same fate as mafia members in Prayagraj and Lucknow.

“Mafia belongs to no one. We made them understand in the language they understand,” he declared.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly developed Ekta Park, named in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and dedicated to his message of unity.

Who Was Mukhtar Ansari?

Mukhtar Ansari was a feared gangster from Uttar Pradesh turned politician, with a long history of serious criminal charges, including murder, extortion, land grabbing, and running organized crime syndicates.

He served multiple terms as an MLA but simultaneously built an infamous empire through violence and intimidation.

The state has systematically seized his properties under CM Yogi Adityanath’s anti-mafia crackdown, and many of them are now being repurposed for public welfare, including housing projects for poor families.

CM Yogi also offered gifts to flat beneficiaries.

CM Expresses Concern Over Religious Conversion of Sikhs

Earlier in the day, CM Yogi Adityanath attended a ceremony at DAV College to mark the 556th Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed concern over reports of religious conversions among Sikh communities in Punjab and Terai regions, calling it a matter of serious worry and stressing the need to curb such activities.
