The girl’s mother had taken her daughter to graze goats near the banks of the Yamuna River. At that time, her husband was away from home for work as a laborer.
A 14-year-old youth from the village started showing affection to the girl by holding her in his lap. The mother asked him to look after the child and went to search for the goats.
When the mother returned, neither the girl nor the youth was there. Upon searching nearby, the girl was found behind the bushes, drenched in blood and moaning in pain.
The girl was immediately taken to the hospital, where her treatment began. Medical examination confirmed the rape.
