Fresh Violence in Bangladesh: 91 Killed Hundreds Injured In Clashes

There seems to be no end to protests, violence, and killings in neighboring Bangladesh. On Sunday new round of violence left 91 dead and more than a hundred others injured. Among the dead include 14 policemen. Internet services in the country were shut and a countrywide curfew has been clamped.

The Indian Embassy in Bangladesh has reportedly issued an advisory to Indian nationals living in this country to remain on alert.

The Indian Embassy in Sylhet has posted on X, ” all Indian nationals and students to remain alert.

As per reports , at least 91 persons were dead and hundreds were injured when police fired teargas shells and lobbed stun grenades to disperse thousands of protestors calling for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign.

The clashes occurred when protestors faced opposition from Awami League, Chatra League, and Jubo League activists.

Last month hundreds of Indian students studying in Bangladesh had left the country fearing danger to their lives following violence and killings in this country which gained independence from Pakistan in 1971.
