High-Level Review Meeting on UPPSC APS Recruitment Scam: Call for Stringent Action Against Corruption

PRAYAGRAJ: A high-level meeting will be held on Monday to review the ongoing CBI investigation into the UPPSC (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission) APS (Assistant Professor Selection) recruitment scam.

This comes after the Chief Secretary had already convened a similar meeting last Monday, underlining the seriousness with which the state government is approaching the issue.

In preparation for the meeting, Joint Secretary Administration, Ashok Kumar, has written letters to both the UPPSC Secretary and the Director of the CBI, urging them to participate.

Earlier, on May 26, the CBI Director had expressed strong displeasure to the Chief Secretary over the non-cooperation of certain UPPSC officials. He specifically sought permission to investigate these officials who were allegedly obstructing the probe.

The recruitment scam has cast a dark shadow over the credibility of the public service system. Genuine and deserving candidates, who spent years preparing with dedication, were robbed of their rightful opportunities due to the corrupt practices of a few officials.

By manipulating the selection process and favoring ineligible candidates, corruption has not only undermined public trust but has also crushed the aspirations of thousands of hardworking youths seeking a fair chance at government service.

Officials in the meeting have stressed the urgent need to take strict punitive measures against those found guilty. The CBI has been entrusted with uncovering the full scale of irregularities, and the government has pledged to monitor the probe closely to ensure no guilty person escapes accountability.

The discussions also emphasized instituting systemic reforms to guarantee transparency and fairness in all future recruitment processes.

Adding to the growing voices of protest, Prashant Pandey, media in-charge of Pratiyogi Chatra Sangharsh Samiti, has demanded that the authorities act decisively. He urged that all officials found guilty of abetting corruption must face severe punishment.

Moreover, every ineligible candidate who secured a government job through fraudulent means should be identified, segregated, and immediately dismissed from their posts so that genuine candidates are not deprived of their rightful place.

The issue has now become a test of the government’s resolve to uphold honesty, fairness, and accountability in public recruitment, as lakhs of young aspirants across Uttar Pradesh await justice.
