India displeased over Ukraine PMs reaction
It surprises India that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has termed PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow as a big disappointment and a severe blow to peace efforts.
Following Zelenskyy’s criticism, India has conveyed its displeasure over the comments, which have been communicated to the Ukarain mission in New Delhi. According to PTI New Delhi’s displeasure on Zelenskyy’s comments were conveyed to Kyiv. There is yet to be an official word on the matter.
The Ukrainian president had described PM Modi’s visit as a huge disappointment having a devastating effect on peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy hug the world’s most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day”, Zelenskyy had said on social media, while talking about a Russian missile strike that reportedly killed 37 people, including three children, and injuring 170 others.
On his part PM Modi during his Moscow visit on July 8 that a solution to the conflict is not possible on the ground but through peace talks. The PM had described the death of children as heart-wrenching while talking to the Russian president.
He also told Putin that any person who believes in humanity feels pain when people die especially when innocent children die. The same goes with war, conflict, or acts of terrorism, PM Modi had said.
Looking by any yardstick, PM Modi did whatever he could do to convey to both nations that peace talks were the only solution between the two war-ravaged nations.
