Kolkata Doctors continue to demand justice for their woman colleague who was brutally raped and murdered: Hand over letter to police commissioner asking him to resign. They also handed over a replica if human spine to the Police commissioner:

A delegation of junior doctors protesting against the rape and murder of their woman colleague at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital met police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and handed him over a letter demanding his resignation.
They gifted him a replica of a human spine.
On his part the commissioner listened to the doctors patiently and acknowledged the police failure regarding the events of August 12( the renovation work near the crime scene) and August 14, ( the attack on RG Kar hospital)

Thousands of Kolkata residents formed nearly a fifteen-kilometer-long chain demanding justice for the woman doctor who was brutally raped and killed.

Residents of Kolkata call it an unprecedented event in the city’s history in the past several decades. Even senior residents of this city could not recall any such event having taken place in their memory.
The protesters were well aware of the busy traffic hence they refrained from obstructing the crossings. As a result, vehicular traffic could move on without being stranded.
Participants waved the tricolor, and carried placards, ” For how long we have to wait for justice”.
“Hang the rapists” and Justice for our sister”.
People from all walks of life, office goers, commuters, and people from neighborhood pockets along the route, participated in the protest.
Earlier, following a 22-hour standoff, police removed guardrails and barricades, permitting a delegation of 22 doctors to meet the police commissioners.
The commissioner expressed satisfaction with police performance and said he would resign if requested by his superiors.
