Kunda CO Zia Ul Haq murder case: Special CBI court to award punishment to ten accused on October 9, after an eleven year ordeal to the family of the deceased police officer

After an eleven-year-old ordeal, justice will finally come to the family of Zia Ul Haq, the circle officer of Kunda who was first assaulted with ‘lathi’ and then shot dead by a mob in Kunda in the neighboring Pratapgarh district.

The verdict of the sentence will finally be pronounced on 10 guilty persons by a special CBI court that has already framed charges against the accused.
The ten accused on bail surrendered in the court and were sent to jail on judicial remand.
On October 9, they will be brought to the court again to hear the announcement of the sentence that the court will award to them.
Nanhe Yadav, Pradhan of Balipur village in Kunda was shot dead on March 2, 2013, over a dispute on land.
As the news spread like wildfire supporters of the pradhan assembled and attacked the house of Kamta Pal and also set the house on fire.
Upon getting the news, CO Kunda Zia Ul Haq rushed to the village along with a police force accompanied by SO Hathigawan Manoj Kumar Shukla and SO Kunda Sarvesh Misra. However, the police force found itself besieged by the angry crowd. Seeing the anger all the policemen fled from the scene leaving the CO surrounded by the mob. While the CO was trying to pacify the crowd a bullet killed Suresh Yadav, the younger brother of Pradhan Nanhe Yadav.
After this, the mob went berserk and assaulted the CO and killed him.
