Lakhimpur Kheri BJP MLA Yogesh Varma allegedly beaten up by DBA President Awdhesh Singh

BJP MLA from Lakhimpur Kheri Yogesh Varma was allegedly beaten up by the President of the District Lawyers Association Awdhesh Singh in police presence. Piqued over the incident hundreds of BJP workers created a ruckus and a couple of them also allegedly slapped the lawyer.
Later, the lawyer bluntly denied the incident even though pics clicked by a photojournalist clearly show that the BJP MLA was being assaulted by the lawyer.
 
It all happened. during the election of Sahkari Bank in Lakhimpur Kheri. The bank’s sitting Chairman Pushpqa Singh is the wife of the MLA.
 
On Wednesday elections were being held at the bank and the MLA reached the place after being told that papers were being snatched from the hands of some of the candidates contesting for membership of the Bank’s samiti.
Both The MLA and the DBA President got embroiled in an argument over the issue of snatching papers from some candidates’ hands.
 
Meanwhile, the DBA President allegedly lost his temper and attacked the MLA.
The DBA President, however, denied the incident saying he was a law-abiding man and hence would never take the law into his own hands.
However, the administration intervened and postponed the elections.
IG Range Prashant Kumar rushed to Lakhimpur Kheri and after visiting the spot and talking to people said, the case would be lodged after an investigation.
