Law Student Brutally Assaulted by Four Classmates After Resisting Their Pressure to Join Smoking and Drinking Circle

Prayagraj: A shocking case of campus violence has emerged from Civil Lines, where a 25-year-old CLAT aspirant was allegedly beaten, dragged, and nearly strangled by four of her female classmates for repeatedly refusing to smoke and consume alcohol with them.

The Civil Lines police have registered an FIR against all four accused based on the victim’s detailed complaint.

According to sources, the accused girls had been frequently indulging in smoking and alcohol consumption, a habit they had reportedly adopted boldly and unchecked, slipping deeper into a pattern of intoxication without the knowledge or interference of the coaching authorities or their families.

Over time, they began coercing the victim to join them, but she remained steadfast in her refusal, drawing their anger.

Ambushed Outside Coaching Institute

The victim—daughter of a hotelier living in Civil Lines—attends a prominent coaching centre in the area. In her complaint, she stated that on December 9, after finishing her class, she stepped outside the institute when the four accused, who had allegedly been waiting for her, pounced on her without warning.

She told police that she was dragged by her hair, kicked, and punched repeatedly, and was even injured by the iron bangle worn by one of the attackers. During the assault, she alleges that the girls attempted to throttle her and issued threats to kill her.

Attack Filmed to Defame Her

The victim further claimed that the accused made a video recording of the entire assault, allegedly with the intention to malign and blackmailing her. She also accused the girls of previously pressuring her to send indecent videos of boys, which she had refused.

Coaching Director Also Named

Shockingly, the victim alleged that when she approached the coaching institute’s director to complain, she was instead turned away, along with the four accused girls, rather than being given support or protection.

Police Action Underway

Inspector Ramashrya Yadav confirmed that an FIR has been registered and that the police have begun an investigation into all allegations, including the assault, threats, coercion, and the making of the video.

As authorities probe deeper, the incident raises serious questions about how a group of young students were able to descend into a pattern of intoxication, bullying, and violent behaviour without it being noticed or addressed by the coaching institution or those around them.
