The last phase of polling will be held on June 1 and only a few days are left for the last leg campaigning. However, the war of words between the rival political parties has escalated in an unprecedented manner.

Criticising veteran Congress leader Sam Pitroda’s views on ‘wealth tax’ senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has charged the Congress party with conspiring to take hard earned wealth from people and distribute it among the intruders and those having more children.

The Congress party leaders have taken a strong exception to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s slogan ‘Ab ki baar, char sau paar’ and tried to convince the electorate that the BJP wants to get over 400 Lok Sabha seats with intentions to change the Constitution and also abolish the reservation being given to SC and ST.

Giving a strong response to the Congress, Narendra Modi issued a video clip of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi through social media in which he (Rahul) is talking about a quota for minorities.

The BJP has also condemned the statement of senior Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav calling the newly constructed temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya as useless. The BJP leaders said that the SP and Congress leaders were not paying due respect to Lord Ram and their stance on the Ayodhya issue had always been against the people’s religious sentiments. The BJP also criticised the Congress for terming Lord Ram as imaginary.

SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav has tried his level best to corner BJP on the issues of unemployment and price rise.

Akhilesh alleged that the BJP took a huge amount from the manufacturers of the Corona vaccine through electoral bonds. He said that the vaccine was not fully reliable and even the vaccine manufacturers were admitting the fact.

On the other hand, the BJP has reiterated that the Congress and the SP were dynasty-based parties and they couldn’t work in the interest of the people.

Political observers feel the trend of mud-slinging is not surprising as it has been an old practice. However, the electorate is wise enough to take a call.
