Prayagraj: In a forward-thinking move aimed at transforming traditional classroom methods, Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir successfully organized an enriching and interactive workshop titled “Developing & Adding Creativity to Teaching & Engaging with Gen Z Students”.
Held within the school premises, the event drew enthusiastic participation from educators and was conducted in collaboration with HarperCollins Publishers, one of the leading names in global publishing.
The day began on an auspicious note with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the light of knowledge and innovation. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the school’s Principal, Mrs. Alpona Dey, along with senior Incharges and the honoured resource person, Ms. Surabhi Jain.
Also present was Mr. Avishekhar, a representative from HarperCollins, whose presence underscored the importance of industry-academic collaboration in shaping modern education.
The workshop was spearheaded by Ms. Surabhi Jain, a renowned Business Communication Coach, TEDx speaker, and accomplished author. Known for her engaging and motivational style, Ms. Jain brought a wealth of experience and energy to the session.
She focused on bridging the communication and engagement gap between teachers and Gen Z students, whose learning preferences and expectations differ greatly from previous generations.
Throughout the workshop, Ms. Jain led a series of interactive exercises, role-playing scenarios, and group discussions, all designed to equip teachers with practical tools to foster creativity and curiosity in the classroom.
Her presentation was both insightful and inspirational, addressing real-time challenges faced by teachers and offering innovative, easy-to-implement strategies to make lessons more relatable, inclusive, and participatory.
A key highlight of the session was her emphasis on understanding the mindset of Gen Z learners — students who are digital natives, highly visual, socially aware, and often driven by collaborative and purpose-driven learning environments.
She encouraged teachers to incorporate storytelling, technology, gamification, and real-world relevance into their teaching styles to maintain engagement and encourage critical thinking.
The workshop served as a platform for teachers to share their own experiences, discuss challenges, and explore new methods to improve the teacher-student dynamic.
Educators left the session with a renewed sense of motivation and a fresh outlook on classroom interaction, expressing deep appreciation for the insights shared.
Overall, the workshop was not just a professional development exercise, but a meaningful step toward redefining education in a way that resonates with the needs of today’s learners. Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir’s initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to educational excellence, continuous innovation, and the holistic development of both teachers and students.
