Armed militants murdered 40 innocent persons in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The incident occurred in the Musakhel district.
Thirty-five vehicles were also set ablaze.
Armed with automatic guns militants first demanded the identity cards and after seeing they gunned down all the men.
In Kalat militants killed eleven persons and carried out six killings in Bolan.
The Baluch liberation army has taken responsibility for these killings.
According to official sources, the militant gang asked for the IDs of 23 persons hailing from Punjab. After identifying people they shot them dead from point-blank range.
Sources said, most of the dead came from south Punjab and some others belonged to Khaibar Pakhtunkhwa.
In another attack, militants killed 11 persons including four policemen in Kalat district.
These attacks were carried out on the night of 24/25 August.
Over 70 people have been killed in multiple cases of terror attacks reported in the Balochistan province of Pakistan, Al Jazeera reported citing military and police officials.
The rail services have also been affected due to extensive damage to tracks abd railway property.
Notably, Balochistan has been witnessing simmering discontent since the past several years with several arms groups present.
Rights groups have denounced Pakistan’s response to the movement.
In a statement, the militants said, they had killed military personnel traveling in the guise of civilians after identifying them. Pakistan however, vehemently refuted the Baloch claim saying they have killed all innocent civilians.
Balochistan Chief Minister Safroz Bugti however announced the attackers will be arrested and dealt with severely.
According to local media, 12 rebels were killed by the security forces throughout the area in the past 24 hours.
