The National Investigative agancy NIA will probe the Riyasi bus attack in which four masked militants rained bullets killing and injuring pilgrims.
The incident took place on June 9 when a bus load of pilgrims were heading towards Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu from Shiv Khodi.
As a result the driver after being hit with bullets lost control over the vehicle that slided down a gorge.
Ten pilgrims were killed in this heart rending accident and at least 42 were injured.
The NIA will investigate the cause and factors behind this deadly attack. The incident could be connected to recent terror attacks in Kathua and Doda in the last week.
The Jammu and Kashmir police has interrogated several persons as many of them had been supporting terrorism.
Police has got several important leads they gathered after arrest and interrogation of fifty persons.
The decision of NIA investigation was taken following high level meeting chaired by home minister Amit Shah.
After this the NIA has taken investigation in its hands from the police.
According to government sources nearly 6222 persons have died in the country in terror attacks since June 1980. ( The exact number may slightly vary )
Ten Pakistani militants reportedly came through the sea route and launched bloody attacks in Mumbai in 2008.
The attack by Pakistani terror group Lashkar -e – Taiba had led to the innocent killing of 166 persons. Over 300 persons were injured in this attack which sent shock waves around the world.
In the past ten years Indian security forces had greatly contained terror attacks which again seems to be raising it’s ugly head.
Meanwhile, the government of India has announced zero tolerance policy while dealing with militants trying to disturb unity and sovereignty of the country.
The counter terrorism agencies are fully alert to deal with such attacks.
