CBI has started investigating alleged irregularities committed in the NEET UG- 2024 examination. On Sunday CBI registered FIR under different section of the IPC. The step has been taken following complaint by the education ministry in the midst of wide spread protest demonstrations and allegations of paper leakage by students all over the country.
One of the biggest examination conducting bodies NTA had organised the NEET-UG-2024 examination at 4,750 entres in the country on May 5.
The officials reportedly complained to CBI alleging irregularities in some states of the country.
The Bihar and Gujrat police have also registerd cases in their respective states and directions have been issued that these cases pertaining to alleged paper leakages be transferred to the CBI. The investigations would cover various aspects. Looking at the seriousness of allegations CBI teams have reportedly left for Godhara and Patna. The team would look into conspiracy angle, fraud, imposters appearing in place of the real examinee,and destruction of evidence.
The investigations would take into account role of officials and conspiracy if any, into the entire sequence of events.
For the time being CBI has lodged new cases against unidentified persons under section 120 B, 420 of the IPC.

Union Education minister too has shifted from his earlier stance wherein he appeared little reluctant to openly comment keeping in view future of lakhs of good students who had been crying foul.

Meanwhile, NTA officials have claimed that their website and portals were completely safe and there exists no danger of hacking.
On the other hand government has already shown the door to NTA director and MD Subodh Kumar and posted Pradeep Singh Kharola as the new director and MD, NTA.
