The Rampur police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested two persons Sunny and Tinku allegedly involved in placing an electric pole on the railway track for derailing a train.
However, their interrogation and inquiries have revealed that they had no intention of derailing the train.
Sources said, both the arrested accused were habitual drunkards have criminal cases against them. Residents of Bilaspur police station the accused had got drunk on the night of Sept, 18
After this, they crossed the track when they spotted an electric pole. They picked up the pole to sell it in the market and get some money to buy alcohol.
However, while crossing the track between Bilaspur and Rudrapur they suddenly saw a train approaching them. Frightened, they abandoned the pole on the track and saved their lives.
Meanwhile, the driver applied emergency brakes and managed to stop the train from getting involved in an accident.
But police have arrested them with the help of GRP and local sources and the court sent them to jail.
