Actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, five days after being stabbed multiple times by an intruder at his Bandra residence.
The 54-year-old actor sustained several injuries in the early hours of January 16 and underwent emergency surgery.
Doctors revealed Khan had three injuries: two on his hand and one on the right side of his neck. The most critical injury was to his spine, where a sharp object was lodged. Surgeons successfully removed the object and repaired the damage.
Following a smooth recovery, Khan was moved from the intensive care unit (ICU) to a private room on January 17.
On Sunday, Mumbai Police arrested a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national in connection with the attack. The suspect, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, had assumed the alias Vijay Das upon entering India. Authorities are investigating whether he entered the country illegally.
Initial investigations suggest the suspect was unaware he had entered the home of a Bollywood star, as his primary intention was theft.
