“It is the inner consciousness that is ethics, which guides a judge”, said Justice Sudhir Narain, a former high court judge while addressing a seminar on the “Value of ethics in the present justice delivery system”. He termed the topic as a relevant one.
The seminar was organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad in the memory of former advocate general late RP Goyal, a legal luminary of Allahabad High Court on Sunday evening.
Justice Narain termed late RP Goyal as a series of thinking process, who saved thousands of people from going to jail during the emergency. Elaborating the topic, he said ethics is the matter of inner consciousness.
Former cabinet minister of UP NKS Gaur termed late RP Goyal as epitome of morality, who helped to provide justice to several Kar Sewaks during Ram Mandi agitation.
In the beginning of the seminar, Champa Srivastava, who is member of national project of Bharat Vikas Parishad threw light on the subject, adding that late RP Goyal was a man of towering personality.
The additional advocate general and senior advocate of high court Ashok Mehta termed late RP Goyal as an institution. He narrated how late RP Goyal helped his juniors in the chamber right from their entry to their establishment as a lawyer.
Another additional advocate general and senior advocate Manish Goyal said that late Goyal always emphasized that there is no short cut to success in legal profession, so one must work hard to achieve excellence in this profession.
In his speech, he welcomed the ban by the Bar Council of India on the publicity of lawyers on social media. “Values are supreme in the legal profession’, Manish added while giving several examples from the life of his father late RP Goyal to prove this point.
On this occasion, three high court judges – Justice JJ Munir, Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery and Justice Kshitij Shailendra, who were present, were felicitated by the Bharat Vikas Parishad.
Prominent among those who were present on this occasion were additional advocate general MC Chaturvedi, government advocate – AK Sand, chief standing counsel JN Maurya, noted English poet – Shilpi Goyal and scores people from all walks of life.
