Tejashwi Yadav Slams Bihar NDA Govt After Chirag Paswan Expresses Regret Over Law and Order Breakdown

In a scathing rebuke of the Bihar NDA government, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday took sharp aim at the ruling alliance, following a statement by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who had publicly expressed regret over backing the Nitish Kumar-led administration amid worsening law and order in the state.

Speaking at a press conference in Patna, the former Deputy Chief Minister didn’t mince words. “We’ve been consistently warning that the law and order situation in Bihar has collapsed completely and descended into what I call criminal disorder,” Yadav said.

“Today, criminals are being treated as Vijay (victors) and Samrat (emperors). Chirag Paswan’s expression of regret only confirms what we’ve been saying for months. But what is he doing beyond voicing his disappointment?”

Tejashwi continued his criticism, calling Chirag Paswan’s position “hypocritical and weak.” He questioned the moral responsibility of staying in power while publicly disapproving of the government’s failure to act.

“You are part of this very administration, yet all you offer is regret. That’s not leadership — that’s surrender. If you truly regret supporting a government mired in crime and corruption, then take action, walk out, and show courage. Otherwise, your statements are hollow.”

Accusing the state government of being a two-engine machine — “one engine running on corruption, and the other on crime” — Yadav painted a grim picture of the current governance. “Gang rapes are taking place in broad daylight.

The public is living in fear. And yet, the administration has no answers, no accountability. This is not a government of the people — it is a government run by and for the corrupt and criminal elements.”

Tejashwi emphasized that leaders like Chirag Paswan were more attached to their ministerial posts than to the people of Bihar. “You can’t claim to care about Bihar when you continue to cling to power, even after acknowledging the government’s complete failure.”

His remarks were a direct response to Chirag Paswan’s statement a day earlier regarding a shocking incident of gang rape in Gaya, where Paswan was addressing a rally. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief had condemned the crime, saying, “The incident is shameful and deeply troubling.

While the accused have been apprehended, the bigger issue is that such crimes are not being prevented. It seems the police have surrendered — natmastak ho gayi hai — before criminals.”

He further stated, “It hurts to say that I have to support a government that cannot ensure the safety of its citizens. We must remember the pain, fear, and trauma the victims go through. The situation in Bihar has become terrifying.”

Yadav’s criticism has reignited political tensions in Bihar, exposing the growing unease within the NDA alliance itself over the deteriorating law and order situation.
