A reward of Rs one lakh has been announced on the arrest of Dev Prakash Madhukar said to be the chief organiser of the Hathras satsang in which 117 persons were killed in stampede.
Police has also arrested six persons including two women said to be sevadars.
The action followed strict instructions by CM Yogi Aditya Nath who visited Hathras and meet the injured undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The CM personally talked to several of the injured and heard their narration of the sequence of events that turned into a horrifying tragedy.
The sevadars reportedly admitted being involved in collection of funds as well persuading people to join the gathering.
They also admitted having allowed the crowd to surge towards the so called Baba to touch his feet.
This deliberate act is being understood to have triggered the stampede resulting into the death of so many persons.
Meanwhile, a three member judicial committe headed by Justice Retd Brajesh Kumar Srivastava has prepared itself to undertake the commission’s task of probing into this tragedy.
