Tragic Road Accident on Ajmer-Jaipur Highway: Four Devotees Killed, One Critically Injured

A heart-wrenching road accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, claiming the lives of four young devotees from the same village who were en route to the famous #SanwaliyaSethTemple. The tragic incident occurred near the Mangaliyawas area in the Ajmer district, at approximately 2:15 am, on the busy #AjmerJaipurNationalHighway (NH-48).

Devotional Journey Ends in Tragedy

The victims were traveling from Ajmer towards Beawar when the car they were in reportedly lost control near Lamana Cut, within the jurisdiction of the Mangaliyawas police station. According to the initial findings, the vehicle swerved off its designated lane, crossed the central divider, and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The impact was devastating—the car was completely mangled and overturned, leading to multiple casualties on the spot.

Immediate Aftermath: Three Dead on Spot, One Succumbs in Hospital

Of the five individuals in the vehicle, three lost their lives immediately at the accident site due to the sheer intensity of the collision. A fourth passenger, who was gravely injured, succumbed to injuries later while undergoing treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer.

Another passenger, identified as Vimlesh (23), son of Kailash, remains in critical condition and is receiving medical care in the emergency ward of the same hospital. His condition is being closely monitored by doctors.

Victims Identified: All from the Same Village

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Suraj, son of Mohanlal
  • Bajrang Lal, son of Ramlal
  • Premchand, son of Boduram Prajapat
  • Kamlesh, son of Bhanwarlal Yadav

All the victims were residents of #ChauslaVillage in Didwana district and were travelling together as part of a spiritual journey to visit Sanwaliya Seth and Devmaliya Jodhpuriya Dev—sacred temples revered by thousands of devotees across Rajasthan.

Police Response and Post-Mortem Arrangements

Upon receiving information about the tragic accident, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hukam Singh from the Mangaliyawas police station swiftly reached the accident scene along with his team. Emergency services transported the injured to the hospital, and the bodies of the deceased were moved to the mortuary at JLN Hospital.

The post-mortem of the deceased will be conducted once the families of the victims arrive in Ajmer, which is expected to take place later in the day.

Grief and Shock in Chausla Village

News of the accident spread quickly to Chausla village, sending shockwaves through the tight-knit rural community. Ashok Kumar Sharma, the Sarpanch representative of Chausla Gram Panchayat, confirmed that police authorities had contacted the village officials and notified them of the incident.

“Five young men from our village had gone to visit #SanwaliyaSeth and Jodhpuriya Dev, but their car tragically overturned during the journey. Four of them have lost their lives. One is in the hospital. This is a very sad day for our village,” he said.

Revisiting Road Safety Concerns

The accident has once again raised serious questions about road safety and vehicle control on national highways, especially during late-night or early-morning travel. The Ajmer-Jaipur NH-48, known for its heavy traffic and fast-moving vehicles, has witnessed several such fatal accidents in the past, often due to high speed, fatigue, or lapses in road engineering.

This heartbreaking incident not only underscores the fragility of life but also highlights the need for #roadawareness, safer driving conditions, and stricter enforcement of traffic norms.

The journey of five young men, undertaken with religious devotion and spiritual purpose, ended in unspeakable tragedy, reminding us how important it is to prioritize #roadsafety even during the most sacred of travels.
