The G 7 nations are going to meet next week at Reza Calabriya in Italy. The commerce and industries minister Piyush Goyal is being sent to represent India. Goyal will be meeting his counterparts and hold talks related to boosting trade and commerce between G7 nations.The methods that need to be adopted to increase trade will be discussed. Reza Calabriya is a coastal city in the South of Italy.
G7 comprises of countrues like Canada, France, Italy, Japan Germany, Britain and USA.
The meeting is scheduked to be held on July 16 and 17.
Besides meeting the commerce ministers of these countries, Goyal will join the outreach session.
India expects to gain in the field of commerce and trade through this meeting.
Besides expanding trade India might find avenues for investment in order to strengthen its economy further.
Before, the Italian visit Piyush Goyal will be in Switzerland on July 14 and 15 to discuss trade issues with European Free Trade Association.
India has been working on a Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with EFTA countries comprising Switzerland, Iceland, Norway & Liechtenstein.
Just a moth ago Indian PM Narendra Modi had visited Italy to participate in the G7 summit hosted by Italian PM Georgia Melony. The summit was entitled artificial intelligence, energy
Africa-Mediterranean. The Pope also interacted with PM Modi.
“I look forward to meeting fellow world leaders and discussing a wide range of issues aimed at making our planet better and improving the lives of people,” said Mr. Modi, in a departure statement on June 13 evening.
He said he was “glad” that his first foreign visit in his third consecutive term as Prime Minister was to Italy for the G7 Summit.
