UP Govt likely to promote 115 IAS officers in New Year

Lucknow: The state government is set to promote over 115 IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh as a New Year gift. Officers from the 2000 batch are expected to be elevated to the rank of Principal Secretary, while officers from the 2009 batch will be promoted to Secretary. The list also includes several District Magistrates who are poised to ascend to higher administrative roles.
Approximately 40 IAS officers from the 2009 batch will move up from their current positions as  Secretaries and District Magistrates to become Secretaries and Commissioners. Of particular note, five District Magistrates currently serving key regions are part of this list. They include Lucknow DM Suryapal Gangwar, Mathura DM Shailendra Kumar Singh, Kanpur DM Rakesh Kumar Singh, Varanasi DM S. Rajalingam, and Ghaziabad DM Inder Vikram Singh. If promoted, these officers could be reassigned from their current DM positions to new responsibilities.
