Uttar Pradesh Reigns Supreme in National Sub-Junior Gymnastics; Hosts Khelgaon School Gymnasts Lead Dominant Show

PRAYAGRAJ: The Uttar Pradesh contingent delivered a commanding performance to maintain its long-standing supremacy at the National Sub-Junior Gymnastics Championship, securing the team title for an incredible 34th time.

Powered by an outstanding display from gymnasts of Khelgaon Public School, UP finished far ahead of rivals, achieving a record margin over second-placed West Bengal.

In the Under-14 boys’ category, Uttar Pradesh amassed a total of 278.45 points, while West Bengal followed with 256 points, and Maharashtra placed third with 246.95 points.

The victorious UP squad consisted of Mohammad Zaid Ansari, Yatharth Keserwani, Om Saxena, and Devansh Gautam from Khelgaon Public School, along with Shabab Ali from Agra.

According to Organising Secretary Anil Mishra, UP dominated across multiple apparatus events:

  • Floor Exercise: UP 49.05, West Bengal 45.65, Maharashtra 43.65
  • Pommel Horse: UP 40.95, West Bengal 41.25, Maharashtra 39.90
  • Rings: UP 46.85, West Bengal 42.60, Maharashtra 38.25
  • Vault: UP 50.05, West Bengal 44.25, Maharashtra 42.65
  • Parallel Bars: UP 47.05, West Bengal 43.50, Maharashtra 43.95
  • Horizontal Bar: UP 44.50, West Bengal 38.75, Maharashtra 38.55

This dominant all-round showing ensured Uttar Pradesh’s historic and emphatic title defense, once again establishing the state as a powerhouse in national sub-junior gymnastics.

Liverpool Edges Real Madrid in Football Clash
In the Allahabad Sporting Football Cup, Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Anglo Bengali Inter College ground.

The lone goal came from Tejas in the second half. Bhavdish Yadav and Vinod Kumar officiated the match.
