Youth Dies While Making Reel at Train Door

He Gave His Seat to a Woman and Went Towards the Train Door

PRAYAGRAJ, Saddam’s friend Faisal explained that both of them had initially secured seats in the train and were sitting opposite each other. However, after the train departed from Prayagraj station, the crowd inside the coach increased. Out of courtesy, Saddam gave up his seat to a woman and moved towards the train door.

A few minutes later, passengers standing near the door were informed that Saddam had fallen from the moving train.

A youth from Phulpur lost his life while trying to make a reel standing at the door of a moving train. His head struck a pole installed near the railway line, causing him to fall off and die instantly.

The tragic incident occurred in the Pooramufti police station area, just before Manoori railway station. Saddam was traveling with his friend to Kanpur to get his passport made.


About the Deceased

The deceased was Saddam Hussain, aged 26, a resident of Sheikhpur township in Phulpur.

  • He was the eldest of three sons of Rahman, who works in a local bidi factory.
  • Saddam himself worked as a barber at a hair-cutting salon in Phulpur.
  • He was unmarried.

On Tuesday morning, Saddam boarded the Chauri Chaura Express along with his friend Mohammad Faisal of Phulpur Shuklana. Their purpose was to visit Kanpur for passport-related work.

At around 10 a.m., nearly two kilometers before Manoori station, the fatal accident occurred. Saddam suffered a severe head injury after colliding with the pole and died on the spot.


Eyewitness Accounts

According to eyewitnesses, Saddam was standing at the train’s door and recording a reel on his mobile phone. In the process, he did not notice the pole situated close to the railway track, and his head collided with it, leading to the fall and fatal injury.

Faisal said that when the train halted at Manoori station, he immediately got down, rushed to the accident site, and informed the police.

Soon after, Pooramufti police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
