Fresh Death Threat Against Salman Khan: Investigation Underway Amid Ongoing Security Concerns
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan has once again found himself at the center of a disturbing security scare, as the actor has received yet another life-threatening message.
The latest threat was delivered via WhatsApp, this time sent directly to the official WhatsApp number of Mumbai’s Transport Department, located in Worli.
According to initial reports, the message was extremely alarming. It warned of a planned attack on the 59-year-old actor, explicitly stating that the individual intended to enter Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai and assassinate him.
The sender also claimed they would target the actor’s car and blow it up. The chilling message prompted immediate concern, and the authorities wasted no time in launching an official investigation.
A case has been formally registered against the unidentified sender at the Worli Police Station.
The case has been filed under relevant provisions of the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically under Section 351(2) and (3), which pertain to criminal intimidation.
Law enforcement agencies are currently working tirelessly to trace the origin of the threatening message. Cyber teams have been roped in to examine the technical details in order to identify the person or group behind the threat.
At present, the legitimacy and seriousness of the threat are being assessed, but officials are treating it as a top priority, especially considering the actor’s history with similar incidents.
This recent episode is the latest in a long line of threats aimed at Salman Khan, who has been under considerable security watch over the past few years due to an ongoing feud with the notorious Bishnoi gang, led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
It is worth noting that exactly a year prior, on April 14, 2024, a serious security breach had occurred at Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence.
On that day, two unidentified men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire at his house before speeding away from the scene.
The incident sent shockwaves through the film industry and the actor’s large fan base. Shortly after the attack, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility via a Facebook post, further fueling concerns about Khan’s safety.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police agencies ramped up their efforts to monitor the gang’s activities.
Weeks later, Navi Mumbai police claimed to have foiled a sinister plot hatched by the Bishnoi gang, which was allegedly planning to ambush Khan during his visits to his farmhouse in Panvel, located on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The string of threats did not end there. In November 2024, another threat targeting the actor was reported. This one was connected to a song that mentioned Khan’s name in a context involving the Bishnoi gang.
The message was received by Mumbai’s Traffic Control Room, marking another instance where law enforcement had to respond to an imminent threat to the actor’s life.
Adding to the tension, the Bishnoi gang was also linked to the assassination of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique in October 2024. Siddique, known for his close ties to Salman Khan, was believed to be targeted precisely because of that association.
The gang openly claimed responsibility for the killing, heightening fears over the safety of anyone closely linked to the actor.
The roots of the animosity between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi gang go back over two decades. The feud stems from the infamous 1998 Blackbuck poaching case, in which Khan was convicted for hunting blackbucks during the filming of the movie Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan.
The Bishnoi community, to which Lawrence Bishnoi belongs, considers the blackbuck to be a sacred animal. The incident deeply angered members of the community, and over the years, this resentment evolved into an active vendetta, allegedly spearheaded by Bishnoi himself from behind bars.
Given the persistent nature of these threats and the violent intentions expressed by the gang in the past, Salman Khan’s personal security has been significantly heightened.
Following the shooting at his residence last year, the Maharashtra state government upgraded his security cover to Y+ category — a high-level protection detail that includes multiple armed security personnel, 24/7 surveillance, and an escort team for all public appearances.
Sources close to the actor have revealed that extensive and advanced security measures are in place, not only for his public engagements but also within the confines of his residence.
The actor’s home, Galaxy Apartments, has reportedly been fortified with modern high-resolution CCTV cameras, intrusion detection systems, bulletproof windows, and restricted access protocols, all designed to prevent any attempts of unauthorized entry or attack.
Meanwhile, police officials and cyber crime units continue to track the origins of the latest threat. Investigators are also examining whether the message has any direct or indirect connection to the Bishnoi gang or if it is an isolated case of intimidation.
The Mumbai Police have appealed to the public to avoid spreading rumors on social media and to cooperate with authorities as the investigation progresses.
With this latest scare, the ongoing saga surrounding Salman Khan’s personal security underscores the growing challenges celebrities face in an era where fame often brings unforeseen dangers.
