Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a powerful and emotionally charged address on Monday, responded to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s decisive countermeasure, Operation Sindoor.

He described the operation as a vivid demonstration of India’s strength, resolve, and commitment to combating terrorism.

Reflecting on the events of the past few weeks, Modi remarked, “The nation has witnessed not only our strength but also our restraint. Every Indian salutes the bravery and dedication of our armed forces, scientists, and intelligence personnel.”

Speaking about the brutal terrorist assault on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where several innocent tourists were killed in front of their families, the Prime Minister condemned the incident in the strongest terms.

“It was an act of savagery meant to shake the nation’s morale,” he said. “The Pahalgam attack was not only a national tragedy, but also a personal pain for me.”

In the wake of the attack, the government granted the Indian armed forces full operational freedom to deal with terrorism decisively. “We gave our forces a free hand to act against terrorists, and they responded with unmatched bravery and efficiency,” Modi declared.

Operation Sindoor, the retaliatory military action carried out by Indian forces, was praised by the Prime Minister as a landmark event.

“Our soldiers showcased extraordinary courage during Operation Sindoor and succeeded in their mission. This operation isn’t just a military initiative—it is symbolic of the emotions and determination of the entire nation.”

Providing specific details of the operation, PM Modi revealed that on May 6, Indian forces struck multiple terror camps located inside Pakistan, including sites in Bahawalpur and Muridke—locations he described as the epicenters of global terrorism.

“These strikes have left Pakistan stunned,” he said. “Terrorists could never have imagined India would respond with such intensity.”

According to Modi, the Pakistani establishment not only failed to act against terror outfits within its borders but even attempted to provoke India further. “Instead of dismantling terror networks, Pakistan chose to attack Indian military installations, schools, and civilian areas.

But our air defence systems intercepted their drones and missiles with precision, while our response was both accurate and devastating.”

Highlighting India’s strategic preparedness, he said: “Pakistan was gearing up for a confrontation at the borders. But India struck deep inside their territory, at the core of their terror infrastructure. They never anticipated the scale of India’s response.”

He disclosed that on May 10, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) reached out to his Indian counterpart.

“By then, India had already destroyed several of their air bases. Only after Pakistan promised to refrain from further terror strikes did India pause its operations. But we are monitoring every move closely,” Modi said.

Emphasizing that India’s military campaign has only been paused, not concluded, the Prime Minister declared: “Our forces remain on high alert. Operation Sindoor is not a one-time mission—it is now a cornerstone of India’s security and foreign policy. It represents a ‘new normal’ in our approach toward cross-border terrorism.”

He issued a firm warning to Islamabad: “If India is targeted again, the response will be swift and crushing. We will not accept nuclear threats, and we make no distinction between terrorists and the states that harbor them. The participation of Pakistani military officials in terrorist funerals clearly shows the extent of state sponsorship.”

On the subject of India-Pakistan relations, Modi reiterated the government’s uncompromising stance: “There can be no talks with Pakistan until terrorism ends.

Terror and talks cannot coexist. Trade and terrorism cannot go hand in hand. Water and blood cannot flow together.”

The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of strengthening India’s domestic defence capabilities. “India has long defeated Pakistan on the battlefield, and now we are showcasing dominance in new-age warfare.

This is the time to accelerate our journey toward self-reliance in defence production. ‘Made in India’ weapons are the future.”

Concluding his address, PM Modi stressed the significance of deterrence and national power. “India must be strong—militarily, strategically, and morally. And it must not hesitate to display that strength when necessa
