With less than two weeks remaining, preparations for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 have gained momentum as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made his fifth visit to Prayagraj this December to oversee the arrangements.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a Bio-CNG plant in the Naini area and inspected major sites, including Sangam Erawat Ghat, Sangam Noj Ghat, and the newly constructed steel bridge adjacent to the Ganga Setu.

CM Yogi also held a review meeting at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) Auditorium under the Prayagraj Mela Authority to assess the ongoing preparations for the grand event.

As part of his itinerary, he conducted a ground inspection of various routes and reviewed the newly built steel bridge parallel to the Ganga Setu.

The Chief Minister has already extended invitations to President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and other dignitaries to attend the Mahakumbh 2025.

Held every 12 years, the Mahakumbh will commence on January 13 and conclude on February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj.

The main bathing rituals, known as the “Shahi Snan” (royal baths), are scheduled for January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).

As part of security measures, Uttar Pradesh Police will deploy underwater drones to enhance safety during the event.

The Mahakumbh 2025 will also showcase India’s cultural richness from January 10 to February 24, with the Uttar Pradesh Culture Department organizing diverse cultural presentations.

Twenty small stages will be set up across key locations in Prayagraj, offering tourists, devotees, and locals a glimpse of India’s cultural heritage. Folk dances from various states will be performed over the 45-day celebration, as per a press release.
