PM Modi says, BJP will form next government in Delhi, women will receive 2,500
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, asserted confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory. He emphasized that women in Delhi would start receiving ₹2,500 by March 8, International Women’s Day, once the BJP comes to power.
Hailing the Union Budget as the most middle-class-friendly in India’s history, PM Modi stated it has brought happiness to every family. He highlighted unprecedented tax relief for individuals earning up to ₹12 lakh annually, claiming such measures for the middle class had never been introduced since Independence.
“The middle class has wholeheartedly welcomed this Budget, calling it the most favorable for them in the country’s history,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi took a sharp jab at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing it of making false promises and engaging in corruption. He alleged that AAP’s policies had led to the closure of factories and stunted development in the national capital.
“While on one side, we have ‘AAP-da’ (a pun implying disaster) with its false promises, on the other side are Modi’s guarantees,” he remarked.
He accused the AAP of wasting 11 years in governance and promised that a “double-engine government,” referring to the BJP at both the Center and the state, would bring growth and development to Delhi.
Outlining the BJP’s vision for Delhi, Modi emphasized the welfare measures promised in the BJP’s manifesto, including provisions for women and senior citizens. He assured the public that no jhuggi (slum dwelling) would be demolished and no welfare scheme would be discontinued under the BJP government.
The Prime Minister also underscored the Budget’s focus on employment-generating sectors like tourism and manufacturing, which he said would particularly benefit the youth.
“When Modi makes a guarantee, he fulfills it with his heart, mind, and soul,” he declared.
Modi credited women for playing a crucial role in ensuring his government’s repeated electoral success and vowed to support them further. He announced that women in Delhi would start receiving ₹2,500 as part of BJP’s welfare programs.
Reaching out to voters from Purvanchal (eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar), who form a significant part of Delhi’s electorate, Modi reminded them of his connection to the region as the MP from Varanasi. He also highlighted various Budget proposals aimed at the development of Bihar and other Purvanchal areas.
Taking a swipe at AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Modi said, “Those living in ‘sheesh mahal’ (glass palaces) cannot relate to the struggles of a poor family in a slum or a middle-class family in a 2BHK flat.”
He accused AAP of corruption in multiple sectors, including health, and claimed that several AAP leaders, including sitting MLAs, denied tickets, and had left the party due to public anger. “Feeling the heat, AAP is now making false announcements daily,” he added.
Expressing confidence in BJP’s prospects, Modi stated, “You can write it down—the BJP government will be formed in Delhi on February 8.”
The Prime Minister concluded his address by emphasizing that Delhi has suffered enough under the AAP government and that a BJP-led administration would finally bring the development and governance the capital deserves.
