Amarnath and Chardham pilgrimage disrupted due to rains.

Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir and Chardham yatra in Uttarakhand have been put on hold due to heavy rains which have resulted in debris falling on roads.

In view of prospects of heavy rains in nine districts in Uttarakhand devotees and tourists have been advised not to go beyond Rishikesh for the Chardham Yatra. The district administration has also put on high alert in these districts.
The Amarnath Yatra has also been temporarily stopped due to bad weather conditions. This yatra has been stopped on both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
Three persons have reportedly died in Uttarakhand because of incidents connected with heavy rains and floods in the region.
Traffic on Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunoitri highways had to be stopped several times due to the danger of landslides and heavy rains. The traffic on the road to Badrinath remained disrupted for the whole day on Saturday due to debris falling on the road from mountains all along. Two bike travellers from Hyderabad were crushed to death after a rock fell on them near Karnprayag. They were returning to Rishikesh from Badrinath temple.
A temporary bridge in Bantoli was swept away by the flood fury of the Saraswati river.
As many as 129 roads were affected in the entire Uttarakhand due to rains and other happenings
