BJP accuses Congress of putting up distorted banners of India in Karnataka

The BJP has accused the Congress of displaying a distorted map of India on banners ahead of its Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka. The party alleged the map omitted Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin, questioning whether the Congress was acting under the influence of “anti-India forces” like US-based billionaire George Soros.

The Karnataka BJP unit shared images on X (formerly Twitter) showing banners and flex boards purportedly put up by the Congress. “Congress has disrespected India’s sovereignty by displaying a distorted map at their Belagavi event, showing Kashmir as part of Pakistan to appease their vote bank. This is shameful!” the BJP tweeted.

The Congress has not yet responded to these allegations.

At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized the Congress for using a map that excluded parts of India’s territory, including PoK and Aksai Chin. He noted the map was displayed alongside Mahatma Gandhi’s image. “This is not the first time the Congress has shown a distorted map of India. It raises serious questions—Is this a mere coincidence or part of a systematic anti-India agenda? Who is influencing these actions?” Trivedi said.

He further suggested the possibility of external involvement, hinting at “signals” from anti-India forces abroad. “Is this being orchestrated by Soros’s secret service or other foreign entities with whom the Congress maintains ties?” he asked.

Trivedi accused the Congress of having a “nexus” with forces aiming to destabilize India and claimed the use of a distorted map exposed this connection. “The Modi government is vigilant and fully capable of countering such threats. The people of India are also alert and aware of these attempts to harm the nation,” he asserted.

He concluded by emphasizing that no anti-India force could disrupt the country’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The extended CWC meeting in Belagavi is scheduled to take place later on Thursday.
