Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized the “pivotal” role of youth in driving the nation’s progress and called for a forward-looking approach to prepare them for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Speaking at an event marking Veer Bal Diwas, Modi stressed the importance of adapting to rapid changes and challenges in various sectors, highlighting the government’s “youth-first” policies.
“This era has shifted from machines to machine learning. AI is now at the forefront, with applications surpassing traditional software.
Equipping our youth to face these challenges is vital,” he stated, reaffirming the government’s dedication to nurturing young talent and instilling confidence in them.
At the Veer Bal Diwas ceremony, Modi paid tribute to Guru Gobind Singh’s sons, the Sahibzadas, lauding their “extraordinary” sacrifice and unwavering courage in resisting the oppression of the Mughal Empire.
“On December 26, over 300 years ago, the Sahibzadas displayed immense bravery despite their young age. They refused all temptations and endured severe torture, proving that for them, the nation’s cause was paramount,” he said, urging the youth to draw inspiration from their legacy.
He noted that Veer Bal Diwas imparts a timeless message: “Regardless of the challenges, nothing surpasses the nation’s cause.
Every action taken for the nation’s benefit is an act of true bravery.”
The Prime Minister also met with the winners of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. Seventeen children from 14 states and Union Territories were recognized for their exceptional achievements in fields such as art, bravery, innovation, science, social service, sports, and environmental conservation.
Congratulating the honorees, Modi said, “These young achievers have showcased the incredible potential of India’s youth. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the winners on behalf of the country.” He highlighted the government’s focus on youth empowerment through targeted initiatives.
“From startups and science to sports and entrepreneurship, a transformative wave is underway. Our policies prioritize empowering the youth. Whether it’s fostering startups, shaping the space economy, or promoting sports and fitness, all our efforts are youth-oriented,” he said.
Modi also launched the ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan,’ an initiative to enhance nutritional outcomes through community engagement. This aligns with the government’s broader aim of ensuring the well-being of every citizen.
He encouraged young Indians to embrace values of courage, innovation, and service to help propel the nation toward unity and progress.
