Police Bust Gang Running Fake Job Racket in Naini Guest House – 15 Arrested, 25 Youth Rescued

PRAYAGRAJ, Naini: In a breakthrough, the police have exposed a gang that lured unemployed youth with promises of government jobs, held them captive, and extorted money. The racket was being run from Aashirwad Guest House, rented in ADA Colony, Naini.

On Tuesday late at night, police conducted a raid and arrested 15 accused members of the gang. Among them, one is from Jharkhand, while the others hail from Rajasthan. In addition, the police rescued 25 youths who had been held hostage.

During the raid, police recovered a laptop, 13 mobile phones, two identity cards, several documents, and a car from the accused.


Gang Operated from the Guest House in ADA Colony

According to DCP Yamunanagar, Vivek Chandra Yadav, the gang had taken a guest house on rent in ADA Colony and was running its operations from there. On the basis of interrogation, efforts are now underway to trace and arrest the kingpins of the racket.


Victims Forced to Make Phone Calls

Police investigation revealed that the accused, including two men named Amit and Sumit, would first call their own acquaintances, luring them with the promise of a government job. Once the youth arrived, they were held hostage and threatened.

They were then forced to call their friends and other unemployed acquaintances to bring them into the trap. The gang had been running this operation from the guest house for almost three months.


How the Racket Was Exposed

The case came to light when Gopichand, a resident of Khori police station area, Malsisar tehsil, Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, approached the police on Tuesday.

Gopichand revealed that he had also been held hostage by the accused, who threatened to kill him and extorted ₹26,000. He further informed the police that around 25 youths were being held captive in the guest house.

Acting swiftly, Station House Officer Brij Kishore Gautam led a police team to raid the guest house and successfully arrested 15 members of the gang.


Modus Operandi

During interrogation, the accused admitted that they would lure unemployed youths by promising government jobs and call them to the guest house. Once there, the victims were kept captive under threats of being killed or framed in false cases.

Each victim was then forced to pay ₹26,000 as extortion money.

The names of the **ringleaders—Vijay Chauhan, Uday Chauhan (residents of Noida), and Prakash Rao—**have also come to light. Police have sent the 15 arrested men to jail while further investigation and efforts to arrest the masterminds continue.
