A cab driver Mohd Zafar 30 from Ayodhya was found murdered near Bhopiamau on Pratapgarh Ayodhya highway on Saturday.
The Ola cab was missing. Police came to know about it through people of the area after they spotted a body in the roadside bushes.
Police identified the driver on the basis of some papers in the pocket. There were no marks of injuries and the case appeared to be one of strangulation, police feels.
It appears that those who had booked the car looted the vehicle after throttli ng the driver by overpowering him.
According to sources Zafar had come back from the middle east two years ago and had taken to cab driving.
The killers also robbed the driver of all the money.
A hunt is in to track down the people who had booked the car as well as the vehicle.
