Indian team to leave for Bangladesh to have talks on Teesta river water management following talks between PMs of both countries.

New Delhi : An Indian technical team is preparing to leave for Bangladesh to have talks on management of Teesta river water.

The agreement to this effect was reached following talks between PM Bangladesh Sheikh Haseena and Indian PM Narendra Modi.

This was announced by PM Modi at a joint press conference.

The Bangladesh PM  was here on invitation recently to be part of oath taking ceremony of PM   Narendra Modi.

The team is expected to draw the road map and to bring back its old nature through the process of cleaning.

Both the countries have decided to implement sharing of Ganga water in a renewed manner following talks.

It has also decided to have talks on overall trade between them.

China, it may be mentioned,was quite interested in grabbing the managenent work of Teesta river.

Teesta River is a 414 km long river that rises in the Pauhunri mountain of eastern Himalayas, flows through the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal and subsequently enters Bangladesh through Rangpur division.
