India’s victory in T20 world cup brought Holi, Diwali and Eid celebrations together on the streets of the city.

Never in the history of cricket people had witnessed the kind of celebration as was seen last mid night on roads and intersections here in the city of Allahabad.
Now recognised as the biggest fanpulling sporting event along with soccer, cricket in India is a household name.
Tempers ran high as the South African side came into bat. India had batted first and had scored not a impressive tally of runsexcept fir Virat Kohli.
But after two quick falls of South African batting line, hopes and expectation rode over the desire to win this thrilling match after a gap of 17 years.
In between there were moments of anxiety and hope.
Soon hope took over anxiety and there were noisy scenes all around as the South African batting line started falling to the pressure mounted by the Indian side.
The pinultimare moment came with the stupendous catch taken by Surya Kumar Yadav.
Fans went ecstatic and started dancing as if they knew victory was coming.
Rohit Sharma Captain and Virat Kohli who scored the highest 76 with his evergreen masterstrokes in this match could not stop tears rolling down.
They hugged each other in this moment of one of the greatest joy and happiness.
Here in the city of Allahabad and in the entire country people rejoiced as if they were celebrating Holi, Diwali, Dussehra, Eid and Christmas and ither festivals together in togetherness.
As if everybody, particularly the youth was out on roads and crossing expressing happiness in their own ways.
They all cheered with drums and crackers in the background at the Lok Nath crossing one of the historical places in the old city.
Majority of revellers were youth but children and elderly also did not lag behind in joining the victory celebrations being billed as unprecedented.
Stanley Road, Rajapur, Allahpur, Johnstonganj, Tagore Town George  Town, Mumfordganj, Nigam Crossing there was hardly any area where victory hailers had not gathered.
