Friday night June 14 was the hottest in the past 127 year history of Allahabad. According to the head of the department of centre of atmospheric and ocean studies Professor Sunit Dwivedi the lowest temperature on Friday night was recorded at 34.3 which was 5.9 higher than normal night temperature during Summers.

On the other hand Allahabad seems to be making new history in atmospheric temperature this summer.

The maximum temperature recorded till now had been at 48.8 in May.

In June the highest record is set at 45 degrees.

The city recorded the highest temperature among cities in the country from June 8 to June 11.

The city was the second hottest in the country on June 12 and 13 but in Friday it became the highest temperature point in the country.

The highest temperature in June has reached 46.9 degrees which was 6.9 degree higher than normal temperature.

The city dwellers experiencing boiling cauldron like experience should expect respite from this extreme heat in the coming days from June 20 onward.

However, there seems to be no respite from the night temperature during the coming two or three days.

The day temperature could cross 46 degree and it would hover around 33 to 34 degrees in the night.
