Lawyer Akhilesh Shukla attacked by Contractor and his armed men in Shivkuti late Monday night in Prayagraj rushed to Medanta in Lucknow Tuesday morning in bad shape. Arrested contractor assaulted in District and Sessions Court Tuesday morning where he was brought after being arrested in lawyers assault case. The sub inspector a heart patient who was escorting the arrested contractor at the court fell unconscious in the scuffle while trying to save the contractor in police custody.

Allahabad ; Akhilesh Shukla, a lawyer was mercilessly beaten allegedly by a contractor Nikhil Singh, and his armed men Monday night in the Shivkuti area.
The lawyer was admitted to a hospital in an unconscious state in the night reportedly with head injuries.
The lawyer was rushed to a hospital in Lucknow by his family members on Tuesday morning after his condition deteriorated at the nursing home.
On Tuesday, the contractor involved in the incident was attacked allegedly by a group of lawyers outside the Special CJMs court where he was brought by the police after his arrest for judicial remand.
A sub-inspector of Shivkuti police Rajkumar Pandey who was escorting the contractor along with constables was also allegedly attacked by a group of lawyers when he tried to save the contractor who was being beaten in police custody.
According to Virendra Yadav Inspector Shivkuti police station the escorting sub-inspector, a heart patient also suffering from a breathing problem fell unconscious after he was allegedly manhandled in the scuffle.
The sub-inspector had not slept for two nights and days and as such could not withstand the onslaught of irate lawyers, said Inspector Shivkuti while talking to thewitnesstimes.com
It all began late Monday night. Sources said, the injured lawyer also a resident of the same area had objected to the rash manner in which the contractor and his men had been driving their vehicles.
The said contractor of the irrigation department and his men had been supervising the construction of the riverfront road in Shivkuti on the northern flank of the city.
As per reports, the lawyer reportedly invited the wrath of the ccontractor’smen after he raised an objection against their rash driving. An altercation ensued but the locals intervened and the surcharged situation calmed down.
However, soon after t, the contractor appeared on the scene with his men. They were all allegedly armed and fired some shots in the air.
They caught hold of the lawyer and thrashed him severely leading to serious injuries to the victim.
After the incident, the lawyer’s brother lodged a named FIR against the contractor and his men.
Looking at the seriousness of the situation the Shivkuti police raided the area and arrested the contractor who was brought to the court on Tuesday where he was beaten and the sub-inspector was manhandled.
Since a heart attack, this strain on the body caused unconsciousness and the sub-inspectorate to collapse on the floor for some time.
Meanwhile, police first took the injured sub-inspector to the Tej Bahadur Sapru hospital from where he was shifted to the SRN hospital.
The condition of the injured sub-inspector became better at the SRN hospital after he regained proper breathing and strength following proper medical care.
He was later released from the SRN hospital after a couple of hours, said Inspector Virendra Yadav.
The Shivkuti and Colonelganj police are investigating the case.
The next police step and action are awaited.
On the other hand, the condition of the seriously injured lawyers remains a cause of much concern in the legal circles here.
