NTA director Subodh Singh has been removed following country wide protests and demonstrations by students in the country over alleged unfair practices in the conduct of NEET examination.

He has been replaced by Indian Trade Promotion Organization Chairman and MD Pradeep Singh Kharola.

A high level committe under the Chairmanship of Dr K Radhakrishnan, former ISRO Chairman and Chiarman BoG IIT Kanpur has been constituted to ensure transparent and fair examination.

Meanwhile, several students appearing in competitive examinations from the city of Prayagraj,Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh have welcomed governments decision to ensure future transparancy in NEET. However, what about irregularities that have already been committed, asks Vivek Singh from this place.

Allahabad boasts of being centre of education and learning. Lakhs of students from several states in the country come every year to join coaching centres to prepare for competitive examinations, he says.

Am here since two years and I see disillusionment among my brothers with regard to their future. This uncertainty in their minds seems to have increased says another aspirant Siddharth Srivastava from Kanpur. After repeated paper leaks in the past couple of months this feeling of disbelief is not confined to NEET and NET alone but other competitive examinations as well. This is ground reality and government should be serious about it in case they are really concerned about our future, he adds.

Look at Uttar Pradesh State Public Commission what all had happened within its boundaries during the rule of a former party government, is no secret. Aspirants from one walk of life got favours and they all got selected.

The new strict laws pertaining to use of unfair means in examination would certainly instill awe in the hearts of ‘solvers and paper leak gangs’ but what remains to be seen is how far these rules are implemented. Who are the people who helped the so called gangs, he asks.
