Police, Lawyer And His Family Attacked By Section Of Muharram Processionists In Lalapur, Allahabad
A police sub-inspector, lawyer, and his family members were attacked by a section of mob during the Tazia procession in Amilia Tarhar village under Lalapur police station in the district here.
The incident occurred when the Moharrum procession reached in front of the lawyer’s house.
A few unruly elements allegedly scaled the boundary wall of the lawyer’s house in order to break branches of the Peepal tree inside his house.
On objection, a section of the mob went violent and attacked the lawyer, his old father, daughter, and other family members with sharp-edged and blunt weapons.
The police and people of the area were also subjected to attack by this violent lot of processions.
The lives of the lawyer and his family members were somehow saved after people of the village intervened in large numbers.
DCP Yamunapar Shradha Narendra Pandey, SDM Jagjit Kaur, ACP Bara, and Sant Lal Saroj reached the spot with a large number of policemen.
PAC was also summoned and it was still camping in the area in view of the tense situation
