Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort in Delhi expressed concern about the safety of Hindus in the trouble-torn Bangladesh, one of our important neighbouring countries.
The PM said, 140 crore Indians are worried about the safety and security of Hindus living in Bangladesh who have faced attacks during the recent political unrest following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina who was the Prime Minister before being ousted.
As neighbours, we are naturally worried about people in Bangladesh. “I believe that the situation in Bangladesh would soon become normal.
We all are well-wishers of Bangladesh. Indians want the security of Hindus living there.
We want the rights of minorities are maintained and honoured.
India is a peace-loving country and we wish to see peace and progress in all the neighbouring countries and elsewhere.
