ISKCON plans to establish an international university focused on teaching Bhagavad Geeta principles and Sanatan Dharma values, announced Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Yogendra Upadhyay.

“ISKCON’s inaugural university will shape the nation’s destiny,” stated Upadhyay, who serves as UP’s Higher Education Minister, during his media interaction at ISKCON Vrindavan’s Gurukul.

“The late Bhaktivedanta Swami and ISKCON devotees have spread Lord Krishna’s message. This planned institution aims to match the legacy of Nalanda University, which educated 10,000 students a millennium ago,” the minister explained.

“By promoting Sanskrit language and cultural traditions, we’ll safeguard India’s fundamental heritage,” he emphasized. Earlier, while greeting the minister at the Gurukul, ISKCON Vrindavan’s PRO Pawan Dubey shared, “We’re developing ISKCON’s first university in Vrindavan. It will be rooted in our ancient traditions, cultural values, and Sanskrit language.”
